Terms of Service
The rules for using Lynote.
Effective 20 April 2026. By using Lynote — including its free tier and any paid token packs — you agree to these terms. Please read them before generating your first note or making a purchase.
Study tokens and usage
One study token is consumed for each successfully completed note generation. A token is used only after the video and transcript have been validated and the AI has returned a complete result. Failed validations, network errors, and generation failures do not consume a token.
The free tier provides 10 tokens per day, counted by IP address, resetting at midnight UTC.
Purchased token packs are one-time purchases. Tokens from a paid pack are drawn before your daily free allowance. Purchased tokens do not expire.
Purchases and refunds
All purchases of token packs are final. Tokens are non-refundable once granted to your account, whether or not they have been used. This applies regardless of the reason for the refund request.
Tokens are credited to your account immediately upon successful payment confirmation from Stripe. If your payment succeeds but tokens are not credited within a few minutes, contact us at the address in the final section.
If a charge is disputed or reversed by your payment provider after tokens have been credited, we reserve the right to deduct the equivalent token balance from your account.
Transcript availability
The service depends on a publicly available transcript for each YouTube video. Not all videos have transcripts. We cannot guarantee that any specific video will be processable, and no refund or credit is issued for videos that fail because of an unavailable or unusable transcript.
Transcript quality may vary. Auto-generated transcripts may contain errors that affect the quality of the study note output.
Acceptable use
You may use Lynote for lawful personal study and educational purposes only. You must not:
- Automate requests to the service or scrape outputs at scale
- Attempt to circumvent the daily usage limit by any means
- Process content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights
- Resell or redistribute AI-generated study notes as a commercial product
We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these conditions without notice or refund.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
Lynote is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated content will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose.
AI-generated summaries, takeaways, and notes may contain errors or omissions. You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of any content before relying on it for study, assessment, or any other purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 30 days preceding the claim.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes arising from the use of this service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, the effective date at the top of this page will be updated. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
